The SNL Sketch That Brought the Most Laughter to Adam Sandler On Air (Featuring Chris Farley, Naturally)

Adam Sandler, renowned for his comedy career and memorable moments on Saturday Night Live, has shared which sketch made him laugh the most on air. Unsurprisingly, it involved his fellow SNL legend, Chris Farley.

During a recent conversation with Timothe Chalamet, which included a rewatch segment for Vanity Fair, Sandler reflected on a sketch from Season 19, aired in 1993, titled The Herlihy Boy House-Sitting Service.

In this skit, Sandler plays Herlihy Boy, a character attempting to convince homeowners to let him care for their houses in extreme waysfrom watering plants to sleeping in their beds. Chris Farley joins as the energetic Mr. OMalley, whose over-the-top antics help sell the absurd concept.

Sandler revealed the sketch was written quickly and spontaneously: "I wrote that late one night when I wasnt scheduled on the show. Lorne [Michaels] asked if I had any ideas, and I just wrote it. I added Farley because I loved working with him. He was the most hilarious person, and I laughed so much during that sketch."

He also shared how Farley would intentionally try to make him break character: "Before the skit, hed say, 'Adsy, Im gonna get you.' Hed stare at me and try to make me crack. Every time I almost did, hed win. He was the funniest guy on the planet."

The sketch remains popular on YouTube, with over two million views, showcasing Farleys larger-than-life performance and Sandlers struggle to keep a straight face. It is a testament to Farleys comedic talent and the playful camaraderie between the two stars.

Though Chris Farley passed away in 1997, his legacy continues to be celebrated. Sandler frequently honors his friend, recalling the joy of performing alongside him. Fans can still experience Farleys iconic work by streaming classic episodes of Saturday Night Live on Peacock.
