Timothée Chalamet Expresses Humiliation Over Being Called ‘Lisan al Gaib’

Timothe Chalamet has admitted that he feels uncomfortable when people call him Lisan al Gaib in public. The Dune actor recently appeared on an episode of Vanity Fairs Scene Selection with Adam Sandler, where they reflected on their past film experiences.

Chalamet Opens Up About the Nickname

During the interview, Chalamet and Sandler revisited scenes from their notable movies and shared memories from the sets. Reflecting on his role in Dune: Part Two, Chalamet discussed the difficulty of delivering Paul Atreides intense monologue. He noted, The first film didnt provide Paul with that climactic moment, so I felt like I was building up to it for years.

He then confessed, And now, you know, if Im walking around, someone will yell Lisan al Gaib, which is far more embarrassing than it sounds. Sandler laughed before the conversation moved to another topic.

The Actors Friendship and Admiration

The conversation took place in the gymnasium of Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, where both actors praised each others work. Chalamet described Sandler as one of the best actors of all time, while Sandler responded, What you continue to achieve for cinema is incredible. Im eager to see what you do next.

The two first met in the early 2010s on the set of Jason Reitmans Men, Women & Children, although Chalamets scenes were eventually cut. Despite this, their friendship endured, with Chalamet being spotted enjoying a basketball game with Sandler in New York in 2023.

Upcoming Projects

Fans are eagerly anticipating the actors future projects. Chalamet will appear in the sports comedy drama Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie, while Sandler joins the ensemble cast of Noah Baumbachs Jay Kelly.
