CNN captures someone laughing as Trump receives brand new prize on hot mic

During a live broadcast, CNN microphones captured laughter as anchor Dana Bash covered a ceremony where President Donald Trump received a freshly established Peace Prize designed specifically for him. The event took place at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, coinciding with the FIFA draw. FIFA President Gianni Infantino presented Trump with the newly created inaugural 2025 FIFA Peace Prize.

Trump has long sought a Nobel Peace Prize, despite often expressing mixed feelings about the award.

This award was only established a few weeks ago after President Trump did not receive the Nobel Peace Prize. FIFA describes the prize as follows: In an increasingly unsettled and divided world, it is essential to acknowledge the exceptional contributions of those who work to end conflicts and unite people in the spirit of peace.
