Governor Tim Walz: Kamala Harris's Potential Presidential Run in 2028 Would Benefit Everyone

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) expressed strong support for former Vice President Kamala Harris pursuing the presidency in 2028, despite the Democratic defeat in 2024. Speaking to Meet The Press on NBC News, Walz stated, We need a Democratic Party that is broad and inclusive, addressing affordability and protecting freedoms. Kamala Harris excels in communicating that vision. He added, If she decides to run, it benefits all of us.

Walz also acknowledged the potential for a competitive Democratic primary in 2028. Im certain many candidates will enter the race, which is positive. We must offer Americans the alternative they are seeking, he said. He praised Harriss message from the previous campaign, noting that while it may not have fully resonated last year, the themes of inclusivity, affordability, and addressing difficult challenges remain relevant.

Earlier in the interview, Walz criticized former President Donald Trump, questioning his mental and physical fitness. He isnt solving the nations problems, and I am deeply concerned about his ability to perform the job, Walz remarked.

Although Harris has not officially announced her candidacy for 2028, she has not ruled it out. She also opted not to run for California governor in 2026. In an October interview with the BBC, Harris reflected on her career, stating, I am not done. I have dedicated my life to service, and it is ingrained in who I am.
