Hospital Fires Nurse After Texas Mom in Agonizing Labor Is Left in Waiting Room in Viral Video

Dallas Regional Medical Center has confirmed that the nurse featured in a viral video, showing a woman in active labor left in the waiting area, is no longer employed by the facility. The hospital stated that the nurses actions did not reflect our values or meet our standards.

The video shows Karrie Jones visibly doubled over in pain while being asked intake questions, despite informing staff that she was in active labor. The clip, shared on TikTok by her mother, quickly gained attention nationwide.

In the footage, Jones is left in a waiting room for more than 30 minutes before delivering her baby just 12 minutes later. At one point, she cries out that the baby is in her a--, prompting her mother to question whether staff treat all patients equally or target Black patients specifically.

The hospital announced that staff will now undergo additional training focused on recognizing imminent deliveries, providing compassionate care, and addressing bias to ensure patient safety and dignity in every interaction. It is not specified whether the nurse resigned or was terminated.

Kash, Jones mother, also shared that the newborn underwent a series of medical checks due to unusual circumstances at birth, including being born with eyes open and the presence of green fluids, which doctors are monitoring closely.

The family has secured legal representation and is seeking privacy while deciding on next steps. Dallas Regional Medical Center reiterated that patient safety and well-being remain their highest priority but noted that privacy regulations limit what information can be disclosed.
