EL PASO, Texas On Thursday, December 4, residents throughout the Borderland region observed and photographed the last supermoon of 2025. The striking event, often called the "Cold Moon," offered breathtaking views for skywatchers.

This "Cold Moon" marked the third and final supermoon of the year, following previous appearances in October and November. NASA explains that a supermoon occurs when a full moon aligns closely with Earth in its orbit, making it appear about 14 percent larger and nearly 30 percent brighter than usual.

Looking ahead, NASA notes that 2026 will feature two lunar eclipses in March and an additional partial lunar eclipse in August.
