CCTV footage requested following theft of £2k from elderly man

The public is being urged to assist in identifying a man wearing a high-visibility vest after a theft of 2,000 from an elderly man in his 80s.
The incident occurred on West Bromwich High Street when the victim was approached by a man who began wiping what appeared to be food off the elderly man's jacket. During the interaction, the man accidentally dropped an envelope containing cash, which the suspect quickly seized before fleeing the scene.
West Midlands Police report that the theft took place on 29 October between 11:30 and 11:50 BST. Authorities now have CCTV footage of the suspect and are appealing for the publics assistance in identifying him.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said, We are keen to speak to the individual shown in the images, as he may hold crucial information for our investigation.
