Breaking News: Olivia Nuzzi Leaves Vanity Fair by Mutual Agreement, Report Says

Vanity Fair has decided not to renew Olivia Nuzzis contract, bringing their professional relationship to an end, according to The Wall Street Journal. Sources familiar with the situation confirmed that both parties agreed to part ways.

Nuzzis departure follows a series of controversies stemming from her prior reporting and recent book launch. Earlier, she left New York Magazine after revelations of an undisclosed romantic involvement with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., which raised questions about her journalistic impartiality, particularly regarding her coverage of political figures including Donald Trump and President Joe Biden.

In her memoir, American Canto, Nuzzi recounts her interactions with Kennedy, referring to him only as The Politician and claiming the relationship occurred solely via phone and messages. The book received largely negative reviews, criticizing both the writing and the content.

Further scrutiny came from Nuzzis ex-partner, Ryan Lizza, who published posts alleging additional personal relationships and suggesting Nuzzi may have assisted Kennedy in managing negative media coverage while presenting herself as a reporter.

Nuzzi had joined Vanity Fair earlier this year as West Coast editor under a short-term contract. Following the backlash from her memoir and the allegations, the magazine reportedly chose to allow her contract to expire at years end without renewal.
