'Clue' TV Show in the Works at Peacock with Dana Fox

Peacock is moving forward with a scripted television adaptation of the iconic board game Clue, according to industry sources. Last year, Sony Pictures Television secured the film and TV rights to the game from Hasbro Entertainment, and the series will now be developed under the production company Mrs. Peacock.

Dana Fox has been appointed as the writer and executive producer for the project, with Nicholas Stoller set to direct and serve as executive producer. While the series full plot details remain undisclosed, it is expected to be a lively murder mystery in the vein of Knives Out and Peacocks Poker Face.

The series is described as offering a contemporary spin on the classic characters. According to the logline: When a group of strangers is invited to an eccentric billionaires murder mystery evening to solve the famous questions who, where, and with what they quickly discover that appearances are deceiving and the stakes are higher than life or death.

The original Clue game, which debuted in 1949, features six main characters: Mrs. Peacock, Professor Plum, Miss Scarlett, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, and Colonel Mustard. Players traditionally work to deduce the perpetrator, the location, and the weapon of a murder within the game.

This new adaptation is part of Dana Foxs multi-year overall deal with Sony Pictures Television. Nicholas Stoller, who recently signed his own long-term agreement with Sony, continues his decade-long collaboration with the company.
