During his Tuesday, Dec. 2 broadcast, Jimmy Kimmel devoted a segment of his monologue to analyzing Donald Trump's latest activity on social media. The late-night host presented a towering display of screenshots from Trump's Truth Social account, illustrating what he called a relentless posting spree.
"He completely lost control last night," Kimmel commented. The 58-year-old host addressed the audience while standing in front of an enormous wall of screenshots, attempting to put the former president's intense social media activity into context.
The flurry of posts occurred on Monday evening, with Trump sharing over 160 messages on Truth Social between roughly 7 p.m. ET and midnight. "This was a nonstop barrage of posts and reposts, averaging one every two minutes for five straight hours," Kimmel noted.
After teasing his audience with a question about whether they wanted to see the scale of the posting spree, Kimmel unveiled what appeared to be nearly every message, eliciting audible reactions from the crowd. "This is what happened last night," he joked. "Do you realize how long someone would have to sit on the toilet to post that much? What is he even eating?"
Kimmel highlighted the chaotic nature of the posts, which touched on topics ranging from Obama, Biden, sedition, and Christmas. "You can tell he was watching Fox News," Kimmel added, noting a moment when Trump asked about getting a reverse mortgage on the White House.
The late-night host also referenced an early-morning post from Trump before 6 a.m. on Tuesday, in which he declared his platform the best with "nothing even close." Kimmel humorously remarked on the statement and questioned, "What was Melania doing during this five-hour marathon? Hiding under the Christmas tree?"
Trump's posts ranged from praising First Lady Melania Trump to criticizing President Joe Biden, while also promoting conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and recalling his cameo in Home Alone 2.
Since returning to television in late September after a brief suspension, Kimmel has spoken openly about his opinions on Trump, though he has also expressed willingness to have him on the show. In October, Kimmel told a Bloomberg panel, "I'd love to have Trump on the show, for sure."
Kimmel explained that his increased political commentary stems from both personal growth and the unusual visibility of Trump. "My job is to talk about the news of the day, and he is constantly in the news," Kimmel said. "Hes on TV and online all day, every day, giving us plenty to cover. Thats very different from the past."
