A doctor has been formally charged with sexually assaulting 38 patients under his care, according to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
Nathaniel Spencer, 38, from Quinton, Birmingham, is accused of 15 counts of sexual assault, 17 counts of assault by penetration, and nine counts of sexual assault involving a child under 13. Additionally, he faces three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration and one count of attempted assault by penetration.
The charges come after an investigation conducted by Staffordshire Police, which examined offences affecting 38 patients between 2017 and 2021. The inquiry focused on alleged sexual offences that occurred at the Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 20 January 2026.
Further updates on this case will be released as more information becomes available.
