A man who admitted to committing sexual offences against two young boys after spiking sweets with a sedative at a summer camp has been informed that his sentencing will take place next year.
Jon Ruben, aged 76, from Ruddington, Nottinghamshire, was arrested following an incident at Stathern Lodge in Leicestershire last July, where eight children and one adult became unwell.
On 14 November at Leicester Crown Court, Ruben admitted to 17 offences but denied one sexual offence involving a boy under 13. On Thursday, the court decided that the remaining charge will remain on file, and he will not face a trial for it.
His sentencing is scheduled for 6 February.
