Serial rapist sentenced to over 20 years in prison for 'dangerous' crimes

A man described as a "dangerous" serial rapist has received a lengthy prison sentence for horrifying attacks on two women in Kirklees. Tristan Bould, 31, denied nine rape charges but was convicted after a trial at Leeds Crown Court in October.

West Yorkshire Police reported that four of the crimes against one victim were part of repeated assaults believed to have occurred on at least 40 separate occasions. On Wednesday, Bould, who has no fixed address, was sentenced to 22 years in prison, followed by an additional three years on extended licence. He was also issued an indefinite restraining order, barring any contact with the victims.

The second victim reported Bould to police in June 2024, revealing she had discovered that he had previously committed serious sexual assaults against another woman. Police were able to identify the first victim, who then provided details of the offences committed against her.

Investigations revealed that seven rapes against one woman occurred between 2019 and 2022, while two rapes against the second victim took place in June 2024. Police praised the victims for their courage and determination in seeking justice.

Det Sgt Adnan Alisic of Kirklees Police stated: "Tristan Bould is clearly a dangerous serial sex offender with no regard for women. The extent of his crimes, as detailed in court, is deeply shocking and demonstrates the serious threat he posed. Thanks to the bravery of these women, he is now behind bars where he belongs."

Det Sgt Alisic also encouraged anyone in West Yorkshire who has experienced sexual offences to contact police. "You will be listened to and supported, with guidance on available services provided," he added.
