Sean Hayes and Drew Barrymore Revealed They Peed in Front of Each Other on the Day They Met

Sean Hayes recently shared a memorable story about his first meeting with Drew Barrymore. The incident occurred when both were young actors attending a party.

During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Hayes, 55, described their initial encounter. You were 22 and I was 26, he said, reflecting on the moment.

Hayes explained that in 1998, he had acted in a film called Billys Hollywood Screen Kiss that was shown at the Sundance Film Festival. Shortly after returning, he was auditioning for roles before his breakout on Will & Grace. At a party, he ran into Barrymore, who reportedly exclaimed that she urgently needed to use the bathroom.

I needed to go too, Hayes recalled, so we ended up in the bathroom together. He asked Barrymore if she remembered the moment, but she said she didnt recall it clearly, only remembering the setting and the movie.

Hayes went on to describe his early acting journey. He started with commercial auditions and had planned to rely on piano playing if acting didnt work out. I had never been to Los Angeles, he said. I just drove out with a friend, got an apartment in Chicago with someone I knew, then landed the movie and eventually Will & Grace.

Barrymore, who comes from a prominent acting family, began her career very young, starring in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial at age 7. She faced personal challenges, including struggles with addiction, and emancipated herself at 14 in 1991. By 1990, after attending rehabilitation programs, she had slowed her lifestyle and embraced sobriety, describing it as a better life, though not an easy one.
