New details have emerged regarding the recent arrest of former "Home Improvement" actor Zachery Ty Bryan and his fiance, Johnnie Faye Cartwright. They were apprehended for charges including assault, reckless endangerment, and driving under the influence. The arrest follows recent headlines connecting Bryan to allegations of domestic violence.

Incident Details Revealed by Authorities

The Lane County Sheriff's Office released an official statement describing the events leading to the arrest. On November 29 at 12:30 pm, deputies responded to a report of reckless endangerment near a camping area northeast of Lowell on Big Fall Creek Road. Authorities discovered that Bryan and Cartwright were driving together with their three children. For unknown reasons, Bryan exited the vehicle and began walking along the road. According to the Sheriff's Office, Cartwright then attempted to run him over, resulting in a crash with the children inside. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Cartwright was arrested and faces charges of first-degree attempted assault, three counts of reckless endangerment, and DUI. Bryan was also taken into custody for violating probation, stemming from a prior assault conviction linked to domestic violence in 2023. Following the arrest, the children were placed in the care of a family member.

Legal Background and Prior Incidents

This marks Bryans sixth arrest in five years. In 2020, he was arrested in Oregon after a heated altercation with his partner, which led to a conviction for menacing and probation. Court records show another domestic dispute in 2025, involving physical aggression against a former partner.

In response to past incidents, a court granted Bryans ex-partner a five-year restraining order. Bryan publicly admitted regret over his actions, acknowledging the impact on his children and stating that domestic violence in any form is unacceptable. He attributed some of his personal struggles to early fame, addiction, and poor decision-making.

Financial Challenges

Earlier in 2025, Bryan faced financial difficulties that led to a lawsuit from investor Cameron Moore. The court ordered the seizure of Bryans residuals to cover a $108,000 judgment, stemming from a breach of contract related to the film "Warning." Moore had invested $60,000 with a promised return, which Bryan failed to repay, citing financial hardship.

Next Steps

Bryan was denied bail and will remain in custody until December 3, 2025. Cartwrights arraignment was scheduled for December 1, 2025, with further outcomes yet to be released.
