Exclusive: Black Mandala Acquires Cult Argentine Toy Line 'Guerreros del Manana' for Animated Series Adaptation

New Zealand-based entertainment company Black Mandala has obtained the rights to produce an animated series and a line of action figures inspired by Guerreros del Maana (Warriors of Tomorrow), the iconic Argentine superhero toy franchise that first appeared in the 1980s. The agreement was finalized at Ventana Sur with the franchises original creator, Guillermo Zanocco, and filmmaker Nicols Onetti, who will direct the upcoming animated series.

Debuting around the same time as Mattels He-Man toys, the Argentine superhero figures have become highly coveted collectibles internationally over the last forty years. Black Mandala plans to showcase the series official teaser along with the first collectible sculpture at Argentina Comic-Con on December 5 in Buenos Aires.

The animation team includes Anbal Morales as animation director, Luciano Onetti composing the music, and Germn Suracce overseeing sound design. Renowned artist Martn Cardozo will design the new collectible sculptures, while veteran voice actor Ricardo Alanis, known for Spanish dubbing of Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Power Rangers, will perform the teasers voice-over.

Black Mandala was founded in 2017 by Michael Kraetzer and Nicols Onetti as a company specializing in genre films. Based in Auckland, the company has built a portfolio of over 150 independent horror and genre titles, participating in major film markets worldwide. Recent projects include Nightfall A Paranormal Investigation by Myles McEwen and Ripley Stevens, Beyond the Drumlins directed by Dan Bowhers, Gene Dolders The Blade Cuts Deeper, and the horror anthology The Last Supper.
