Alyssa Farah Griffin's absence from “The View” this week due to health update from former Donald Trump staffer

Alyssa Farah Griffin, cohost of The View, has been missing from the show for three episodes this week. She recently shared a health update with fans on her Instagram Story, explaining her absence.

The 36-year-old, who is expecting her first child, addressed her absence after moderator Whoopi Goldberg mentioned it during Tuesdays live broadcast. Griffin later posted on social media Wednesday morning, saying she had been ill with a stomach virus and hoped to return to the show soon.

Griffin wrote, Hey everyone! Ive been down sick with a stomach virus but hope to be back on The View tomorrow, adding that she would miss the upcoming episode. She also reminded followers to stay cautious during the season: Its no fun being sick while over six months pregnant! Remember its that time of year be smart, use hand sanitizer, stay home if youre unwell!

Earlier in October, Griffin announced on the show that she and her husband, Justin Griffin, are expecting their first child, after sharing details about her IVF journey. Im overjoyed, she said at the time. IVF was challenging; it took about a year and five rounds, but now hes on the way!

Griffins absence follows recent breaks taken by other The View cohosts. Whoopi Goldberg returned on Monday after two weeks away filming in Italy for the soap opera Un Posto Al Sole. Goldberg described the experience as challenging, performing in a language she didnt fully speak. Joy Behar also missed multiple episodes in November due to a broken toe from an accident at home, which she shared upon her return to the show.
