Apple renews Season 3 of 'Platonic' starring Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne

Apple TV officially confirmed on Friday that Platonic will return for a third season. The second season concluded on October 1.

The series features Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne as Will and Sylvia, longtime friends who reconnect in adulthood. In the story, Sylvia is married while Will is navigating a divorce. Previously, Rogen and Byrne appeared together as a married couple in the Neighbors films. Nicholas Stoller, director of Neighbors, co-created the series with his wife, Francesca Delbanco.

Luke Macfarlane portrays Sylvia's husband, Charlie, and father to their three children: Sophie Leonard, Max Malenko, and Sophie Kopera. In interviews, Macfarlane shared that his character has grown accepting of Will and Sylvia's renewed friendship.

Other main cast members include Tre Hale, Andrew Lopez, and Carla Gallo. New romantic storylines feature Emily Kimball and Rachel Rosenbloom as love interests for Will. Season 2 also included guest appearances from Byrne's real-life partner Bobby Cannavale and SNL alumni Beck Bennett, Kyle Mooney, and Aidy Bryant.

Rogen, Byrne, Stoller, and Delbanco also serve as executive producers on the show. Additionally, Rogen is involved with The Studio for Apple, earning Emmy recognition for acting, writing, and directing alongside Evan Goldberg.
