Murder suspect from the 1980s detained under Mental Health Act

An elderly man in his 80s, apprehended on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman in Bournemouth, has been formally held under the Mental Health Act.
The victim, a woman in her 60s, was discovered deceased at a residence on Wentworth Avenue on Tuesday shortly before 12:30 GMT. Following an evaluation by mental health specialists, the suspect was placed under the act.
Authorities confirmed that the man was acquainted with the deceased. A police cordon remains in place, and residents in the vicinity may notice an increased police presence as the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death continues.
The family of the woman has been informed and continues to receive support from officers. Police stated that their thoughts are with the family during this difficult period.
