Detention following a 'severe' attack in the city center

Authorities have detained a man on suspicion of inflicting serious bodily harm after a violent incident in Leicester's city centre. The event took place on Horsefair Street at around 05:00 GMT on 30 November, when emergency services received reports that a man in his twenties had sustained severe head injuries.

Leicestershire Police confirmed that the victim remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition. A 20-year-old suspect has been taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.

Detective Sergeant Adrian Davies, from the forces complex investigation unit, stated that inquiries into the circumstances of the attack are continuing. "We are committed to identifying and arresting anyone involved in this assault," he said. "We also urge anyone who was in Leicester city centre late Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday and witnessed anything related to this incident to come forward with information."
