Man discovered deceased at residence possessed a 'kind and generous nature'

The community is mourning the loss of Lee Mathers, 56, who was discovered dead at a residence on Park Avenue in Werrington on the evening of 26 November. His family described him as having a "heart of gold."

Staffordshire Police confirmed that five individuals from the Stoke-on-Trent areatwo men aged 31, a 29-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman, and a 16-year-old boyhave been arrested on suspicion of murder. They have since been released on conditional bail while investigations are ongoing.

Mr Mathers' relatives remembered him as a "highly regarded local figure" who was always ready to support anyone in need. In their statement, they expressed their profound grief, saying they "miss him dearly" and are "utterly devastated as a family."

The investigation is continuing, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
